Working with Nancy Taylor has turned a challenging and emotional experience into a manageable and empowering one. Sharing your child’s struggles and asking the school district for help isn’t easy, but having Nancy on my side provides tremendous support. Nancy listens, cares and offers expert advice to guide us through a very challenging process. She is completely committed to my child and our family, effectively advocating for our needs without being adversarial. She is available, responsive and expert at seeking results to support my child. When I have a question or feel stuck, I don’t hesitate to contact Nancy. She is kind, compassionate and skilled at getting the best outcome for my child. I am grateful to have Nancy advocate for my child and our family.

When I go into a PPT meeting with Nancy Taylor, I know that all will be well. As a school psychologist by training, and a school administrator by history, Nancy has a thorough understanding of how these meetings work and how to ensure they run smoothly. She uses her vast knowledge and understanding of the school system and the science and nature of education, to ensure the best outcomes for children and families. Being in a meeting with Nancy is like watching a maestro in action. She is the ultimate professional, working with authority and kindness, and managing to make all members of the team leave the meeting feeling that they do their job well. Ultimately, her goal is to support what is best for the child, and she never loses sight of that. She works closely with the families and the students throughout the process, ensuring their needs are met academically and emotionally. I wholeheartedly recommend Nancy.

Nancy has a wonderful way of listening - not just to a parent or a referring clinician - but also to the school team and, most importantly, each child. Her experience as a school psychologist informs every aspect of her advocacy so that students’ accommodations and individualized education programs help align expectations with abilities. Moreover, her recommendations are always driven by practical concerns of whether a program is realistic: both authentic to a student’s real-world context as well as flexible and practical. Her contributions to our students’ outcomes has been truly invaluable.

We highly recommend Nancy Taylor as an Educational Advocate. The help that she's advocated for our daughter to receive has been absolutely life changing and we couldn't have had such positive results without her. Nancy takes the time to understand what the child needs and knows how to advocate for those services. And for us, it helped a great deal that she explained it all to us in terms we could understand. Our daughter is advancing in a way we didn't think possible, and we owe it all to Nancy Taylor. We will forever be grateful that Nancy was referred to us. There are no words to express just how thankful we are that we picked up that phone and called Nancy 2 years ago.

My son has struggled for years with attention and academic issues. After his recent psychological evaluation, my husband and I felt completely overwhelmed by new diagnoses and a long list of recommendations. It was our good fortune to be referred to Nancy Taylor. Nancy helped educate us, sort through and prioritize which recommendations to implement first, and provided invaluable preparation and support for 504 and PPT meetings with the school team that ultimately led to a solid in-school support plan for our son. First and foremost, Nancy is a caring person who takes the time to really get to know your child and your family. Nancy put a lot of effort relationship building, which can be challenging with a reticent teenage boy. Nancy helped my son understand that his voice is a valuable part of the process, and instilled in him a sense of efficacy that allowed him to impressively articulate his experiences and needs during school meetings. I asked my son to think of a few words that come to mind when describing Nancy, and he immediately answered “very helpful” and “kind”. Nancy’s emotional support of our family has been exceptional, and she also has forged strong collaborative relationships with the multiple providers involved in our son’s care to ensure the best possible outcomes. Nancy’s expertise in educational and psychological testing was immediately apparent, as was the expertise she gained from years working in schools. She knows from experience what to realistically expect in terms of in-school support and she is intimately familiar with special education participants and proceedings. Nancy was able to wade through a complicated maze of cognitive test results, probe further with her own testing when needed, and translate this data into realistic school-based interventions that could potentially help our son. She then skillfully advocated for these interventions during school meetings in a gracious and cooperative manner. Her follow-through is superb and her attention to detail is remarkable. Coping with your child’s educational and psychological difficulties can be daunting. We highly recommend Nancy for her compassion and professionalism as you seek educational support for your child. Thanks to Nancy, our son is now on a much better path and we have a solid support network in place to ensure his continued progress.
